UNSTOPPABLE

I liked this movie alot! Denzel is great, as usual, and there was enough variety, besides just a speeding train, to keep it interesting. Good cast of characters.

A SINGLE MAN

A small, sad slice of life - beautifully done by Colin Firth, who is always a pleasure to watch. But I didn't like the end.

PLEASE GIVE

This is a quirky movie - pretty good, I guess. I wouldn't watch it twice, however.

THE AMERICAN

This is a good movie, but I had to stick with it to the end - to know that. It moves slowly, and George looks so unhappy throughout it, but that turns out to be the whole point.

NOWHERE BOY

I liked this movie. I hadn't known these things about John Lennon.

SECRETARIAT

Well, I love horse movies, so I liked this very much - especially learning about this amazing horse! Then, I found the REAL footage of the race on youtube! It was exactly the same, and it was interesting to hear the real people talk about Big Red, aka Secretariat.

THE KINGS SPEECH

I loved this movie!!! The acting is superb, the story is timeless and true, and Geoffrey Rush's character is a delight! I hope it wins Best Picture.

INCEPTION

I liked it. It was an ambitious movie to make - trying to portray, and keep straight, the various layers of several peoples' dreams. It almost lost me, half way through, but it did come together quite nicely in the end. I wouldn't watch it twice, though - too much work!

THE TOWN

This is a forgetable movie.

THE SOCIAL NETWORK

I liked it. The story is interesting; the Zuckerberg character is fascinating and played extremely well; and the cinematoghraphy fit the subject matter perfectly. The music was too loud, however - making it difficult to hear some of the dialogue.

THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT

I did not like this movie. The characters were not likeable and it was uneven. I believe the only reason for its inclusion in the Oscar nominees was the subject matter - not the movie itself.

WINTERS BONE

I liked it. The characters are compelling - a glimpse into another world.

BLACK SWAN

This is a very interesting movie, with many layers. Unique! I would like to see it a second time - to better sort out the real from the imagined. I liked it.

TRUE GRIT

I liked it. It is beautifully filmed and Jeff Bridges is captivating.
